The Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin’s “Rose Estate” is up for sale again.

    What We Know:

    • The 5,623 square-foot estate is received its nickname the “Rose Estate” for it’s rose and floral theme on display throughout the home and because Franklin’s “A Rose Is Still A Rose” album was recorded while she resided there.
    • It was built in 1927 and features 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, 9-foot ceilings, a solarium, a heated three-car garage, entertaining space, and a yard that leads into the Detroit golf club.
    • It was purchased in October 2018 by developer Anthony O. Kellum for $300,000 after the property had been vacant for ten years.
    • Kellum’s mother raised him on Franklin’s music. “It’s a very touching project for me,” said Kellum. “When she (Aretha) passed, it hit me hard. So many memories went through my mind. My mom used to listen to Aretha Franklin all the time. She’d be around the house singing it. It took me back to that time.”
    • At the time of the purchase Kellum noted that he took a quick walkthrough prior to purchasing and the property needed “major renovations”, including repairs to the roof and a new electrical system.
    • The estate can be all yours for the shiny new price of $750,000.
    • Franklin passed away August 16, 2018 after a battle with a pancreatic tumor leaving behind a lengthy and timeless catalog and legacy.

If you want a chance to own a piece of soul history, now is your chance!
