On the 4th of July, Wesly Michel appeared to be waiting for a friend at a local condo unit building.
What We Know:
- Wesly was waiting for his friend. It appears that he may have attempted to tailgate a building resident.
- The resident was identified as Christopher Cukor, a YouTube employee.
- Cukor was entering the building with his son and was visibly bothered by Wesly’s access to the building without being accompanied by a resident. Video footage is inconclusive and does not show the conversation that took place before recording began. There is no footage of the resident asking Michel to wait on his friend outside. Cukor’s son begs repeatedly for his dad to leave the Michel alone.
- White people have weaponized calling the police against black people for decades. Access to cameras from smart phones has aided the awareness of these incidents. In the last year alone, the number of white people exposed for this barbaric practice has increased upwards of 70%.
Black News Alerts has reached out to Michel, but has not receive a response at press time.
