    Update 8/21/19 3 PM ET:

    • The four female students, two Spelman College students and two Clark Atlanta University students, are in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
    • No arrests have been made but police released surveillance video of the suspect shown wearing a white T-shirt, gray sweat pants, a tan Gucci hat and gray New Balance sneakers.

    • One of the young women posted to social media stating “I’m here, I’m alive. God got me. Y’all got me.”  She is thanking everyone for your prayers and is asking for help with her recovery via a GoFundMe which has already met half of it’s goal.

Clark Atlanta released a statement stating:

“One of our top priorities at CAU is the safety and security of our students. Here at Clark Atlanta University, and across the country, students have the right to gather together in celebration without the fear of violence. We will not stand for it in the Atlanta University Center. We are working diligently with Atlanta PD to identify those involved.”

Spelman College and Morehouse College made similar statements about the incident and are providing counseling services while reminding students of steps to take in cases of emergency and the resources available to them.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477. Investigators said there is a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.

Original story 8/21/19 7 AM ET:

Just days after new students were moving in on campus and before classes can even get started, a shooting at a party has left several students injured and four shot.

    What We Know:

    • The incident occurred at Robert W. Woodruff Library near Clark Atlanta University at approximately 10:30 pm near the steps of the library.
    • A confrontation between two groups resulted in the gunfire from what is said to have been an automatic weapon and left students in the crossfire.
    • Four female students, ranging in age from 17-19, were shot and rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital.  One was shot in the chest, one in the leg, and the other two were grazed.

The gunmen is still on the run and this story is developing.
