Daniel Michael Nogueira and Bryan Antonio Araujocabrera, both 25, are seen in a photo provided by the Los Angeles Fire Department on Sept. 4, 2019.

Two people were arrested for attempted murder in connection to the bush fire that occurred in Eagle Rock a couple of weeks ago which prompted evacuations in 100 homes in Glendale and Eagle Rock and forced multiple freeways to close down.

    What We Know:

    • NBC4 reports that the suspects, Bryan A. Araujocabrera, 25, of Pacoima, and Daniel M. Nogueira, 25, of Eagle Rock were arrested in their home which happened to be blocks away from where the fire occurred near a homeless encampment. Araujocabrera remains in jail with a $1 million bail while Nogueira posted bond and was released Sunday.
    • In an article by KTLA, the fire was reported at 4:10 pm at the 2900 block of Colorado Boulevard. The Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman, Margaret Stewart said that the fire grew to 30 acres and was 25 percent contained by 7:30 pm.
    • More than 200 firefighters from the Los Angeles and Glendale fire departments needed assistance from helicopters to contain the flames. It took the firefighters two days to fully contain the wildfire. One firefighter suffered a minor wound while no other injuries were reported.
    • Officials said that about 100 homes are under evacuation. According to KTLA, city officials in Glendale issued an evacuation order after 6 pm, which affected those living in Glenoaks Boulevard, between Mt. Carmel Drive and Bywood Drive, and all streets in between. An evacuation was set up in Glendale Civic Auditorium. No evacuations have been ordered for the side of the border of Los Angeles.

Plumes of smoke arose from hillsides when the helicopters were dropping loads of water while the firefighters battled the flames, which reached 70 percent containment the day after the fire broke out.
