In an interview, Lil Nas X tells ‘Hoodrich Radio!’ he is not mad at Kevin Hart after the recent outrage Hart has been receiving.

    What We now:

    • Over the past weekend, a clip from Lebron James’ HBO show The Shop was released. In the clip was a conversation between celebrities Lil Nas X, Charlemagne Tha God, Kevin Hart and more.
    • The clip shows Lil Nas X, after being questioned, opening up about why he felt the need to come out as openly gay. In the video, Kevin Hart’s demeanor and words come off as dismissive to many people who watched it. They saw his actions as a form of ‘gaslighting.’
    • Kevin Hart has a history of being criticized for having homophobic rhetoric in his comedy shows.
    • In an interview with Hoodrich Radio!, Lil Nas X expressed that he holds no anger towards the comedian stating “No, I’m not mad at Kevin Hart,” he said. “I mean, a lot of situations like that, I don’t try to get into that. I don’t try to get into these situations ’cause online, I’m just here to be funny and laugh.”

The pop star also noted that he does not want his feelings towards the situation to be a gauge on how others should treat it.

Kevin Hart perpetuated the very homophobia that makes the world more dangerous for Lil Nas X, which is why the whole “He said he was gay. So what!” feels so much like gaslighting.
