    Tekashi 6ix9ine Testifies In Court

Daniel Hernandez, 23, socially known as 6ix9ine or Tekashi 6ix9ine is an American Rap artist from Bushwick, New York. His criminal involvement and gang activity has landed him in jail and Hernandez is singing like a hummingbird in the hot seat.

    What We Know:

    • Tekashi was arrested days before the Thanksgiving holiday last year and is currently being held in a federal prison in Queens, New York. He is facing a minimum of 32 years, maximum life on racketeering charges amongst others. Tekashi, along with four members of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, will appear in court this month.
    • In 2017, Tekashi went on the podcast show ‘No Jumper’ and explained that he had a couple of prior run-ins with law enforcement. “I have a couple priors. I went to jail. I have a couple priors,” says 6ix9ine. “I got caught selling heroin at a store, and then I beat up the owner of the store so they hit me with sale of illegal substance. And then I had an assault—like a second-degree assault.”
    • In March 2015, 6ix9ine was arrested for his involvement in a child-sex act. He later pleaded guilty to “the use of a child in a sexual performance” in October 2015, according to a New York Times report. He was let off the hook and given probation with the promise of him getting his GED. Unfortunately, he failed the test in January 2018. So in October of last year, he was sentenced to 4 years of probation and ordered to perform 1,000 hours of community service.
    • Tekashi was arrested in May 2018 for driving without a license. He also allegedly assaulted an officer which added more charges. Later that year in July, he was arrested on an outstanding warrant in Houston, Texas for assaulting a 16-year-old at a mall.
    • His most current charges, which led to his arrest and his now trial, are six counts of racketeering and conspiracy in an effort to promote Nine Trey’s status and territory in various areas of New York.
    • His testimonials are shocking to all due to his huge persona as a gangsta. Tekashi said he began inviting gang members to be extras in his videos for “Gummo” and other hit songs. He explained that this was “because I wanted the aesthetic to be full of Nine Trey.”
    • Back in February, 24 hours after being arrested and charged with racketeering and gang-related charges, Tekashi cut a deal with federal prosecutors to flip on his crew. Tekashi’s former manager “Shottie”, was sentenced to 15 years. Tekashi will more than likely spare himself a long prison sentence after cooperating with the feds.
    • The name dropping continued. Tekashi came forth with new information and identified rapper’s Jim Jones and Cardi B as members of the Nine Trey Bloods. Cardi B took to Instagram with the newly circulating video by Keke Palmer, denying any recollection of what he stated.
