    Oprah Winfrey reveals her next week book club pick; An American Marriage’ by Tayari Jones.

    What We Know:

    • On Tuesday Oprah announced her latest book club selection: An American Marriage by Tayari Jones.
    • Winfrey said, “This novel is intriguing, It’s a love story that also has a huge layer of suspense, it’s also so current, I could not put it down and have already passed it on to lots of my friends.”
    • Jones appeared on “CBS This Morning” and discussed how she came about the novel, she said she got the idea from watching a couple arguing in an Atlanta mall, the female waiting on the male for several years for a crime he didn’t commit.
    • In “An American Marriage,” newlyweds Celestial and Roy, professional African Americans who live in Atlanta, find their lives shattered when Roy is accused of a crime he didn’t commit and was incarcerated.

    People magazine named the novel its “Book of the Week.”
