Tyler Perry’s latest accomplishment takes place four days before the grand opening of his Atlanta-based Tyler Perry Studios.
What We Know:
- Ana Martinez, the producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, stated that the Hollywood community is proud to honor Perry for his work, his perseverance, and ability to influence others. “Tyler Perry is a force in the entertainment world. Coming from a world of poverty and pushing his way to the top – his creative work has been an inspiration for many people. ”
- Guest speakers have yet to be announced, but Oprah, actresses Taraji P. Henson, and Cicely Tyson are among those expected to be there. These people have been very fundamental to Perry’s career. They helped reinvent his life from being homeless to being a Hollywood Powerhouse in the African American community.
- Perry’s accomplishments include 2005’s Diary Of A Mad Black Woman his first feature film, which first introduced Madea Simmons to the world. Madea has appeared in 10 additional movies since then.
- In addition to playing Madea onscreen, Perry has appeared in Star Trek, Mr. Deeds, and Vice.
