Drake has been accused by his father Dennis Graham of making up the narrative of having an absentee father for record sales.
What we know:
- Earlier this month Drakes father Dennis Graham appeared on an episode of Power 106’s ‘Nick Cannon Mornings’ and discussed his opinion on Drake alleging he’s an absentee father in his lyrics.
- During the interview he says: “I had a conversation with Drake about that. I have always been with Drake. I talk to him if not every day, then every other day. We really got into a deep conversation about that. I said, ‘Drake, why are you saying all of this different stuff about me? Man, this is not cool.” He then alleged that Drake admitted to lying about their relationship in his lyrics for record sales.
- Drake can be heard opening up about his relationship with his father on the track ‘Look What You’ve Done’ from his album ‘Take Care.’ Stating his father is “living in Memphis now. He can’t come this way. Over some minor charges and child support. That just wasn’t paid.”
- Following his father’s comments, he expressed his disappoint on his Instagram story stating “My father will say anything to anyone that’s willing to listen to him. Every bar I ever spit was the truth and the truth is hard for some people to accept.”
With Drake becoming a father to his own son Adonis in 2017 he has made it clear that he plans to set a better example and be a more supportive father than what he felt he had growing up.
