OJ Simpson is suing a hotel casino in Las Vegas, Nevada for defamation in regards to being banned.

    What We Know:

    • Simpson was banned from the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas back in 2017. Unnamed employees of the establishment told celebrity news site TMZ that he had been drunk, disruptive, and unruly. TMZ is not listed as a defendant in the case.
    • Simpson, who is on parole for a 2008 conviction for armed robbery and assault with a weapon, filed the lawsuit Thursday against Nevada Property 1 LLC, corporate owner of the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
    • After spending several hours with two friends at a steakhouse and lounge in 2017, Simpson received a notice from a security guard as they left. The notice prohibited him from returning. Simpson says he was never given a reason. In the lawsuit, Simpson denies being “belligerent” and damaging any hotel property.
    •  The defamation complaint said a parole officer arrived unannounced at Simpson’s Las Vegas home following news reports of the Cosmopolitan incident and administered drug and alcohol tests.

Parole officials found that Simpson had not violated the terms of his probation “and ultimately determined that the Cosmopolitan’s assertions against Simpson were false,” the complaint said.
