An unidentified white teenager was arrested after classmates reported that she had plans to commit murder.
What We Know:
- According to a press release, the teen’s classmates saw her notebook which contained written plans to commit murder at Bethel African Episcopal Church.
- After school counselors investigated the incident and confirmed she had written threats against the church members. The Gainesville Police Department was notified and took her into custody.

- Gainesville Police Chief Jay Parrish released a statement about the incident saying, “This is an active investigation and a prime example of how strong relationships between the student body, school administration, and law enforcement can intercept a potentially horrific incident.”
- The police believe that the church was targeted because its members are primarily Black but they are still investigating the incident. The teenager was charged with criminal attempt to commit murder and is in holding at the Regional Youth Detention Center in Gainesville, GA.
Thankfully, her plot was foiled.
