Comcast Assigns Vulgar Username To Man

A Comcast customer was assigned a username that he was not to fond of nor did he find it funny.

    What We Know:

    • Osmond Malcolm discovered the not so flattering username when his WiFi router stopped working. His router not working prompted him to access his Comcast Xfinity account and there he discovered the username “ASSMEN.MALCOLM”. It was deemed so vulgar, it was censored on air.
    • Malcolm is a chef and often works in guests’ kitchens. He said he relies on internet service to upload demos to Facebook. “I was like, you got to be kidding me. That was very disrespectful,” Malcolm said in an interview with CBS Chicago. “Can you imagine if I’m somewhere and I actually try to log in to their username – to Comcast – to use a hotspot, and that name were to pop up on my screen?”
    • Comcast first offered Malcolm two free days of service, and then a second offer of $600. He did not accept either gift. Malcolm discovered that this was not the first time this has happened to a customer. Another customer was offered $1,000. Two Comcast customer bills went viral back in 2015, in which names got changed to derogatory words.
    • A Comcast representative issued the following statement: “Treating our customers with respect is one of the most important things we do, and is expected during every interaction. This incident was the result of a third-party sales agent. We’re extremely embarrassed about this incident and have apologized to Mr. Malcolm directly. There is no excuse for this behavior, and this individual and the third-party store will no longer be working on any Xfinity business.”

Malcolm canceled his account and put his business on hold while he searches for another service provider.
