On Sunday, Derrick Nnadi became a Super Bowl champion with the Kansas City Chiefs. Since then, he has paid adoption fees for over 100 dogs.

    What We Know:

    • Soon after the win, the defensive tackler later revealed he would fork out the adoption fees for over 100 dogs currently available for adoption at every location for the KC Pet Project.
    • The 23-year-old had perviously paid for a dog’s adoption after every Chiefs win this season, which tallied 15 including the post-season.
    • KC Pet Project wrote in a post shared to Facebook, “We have had an amazing, season-long, partnership with Derrick and he couldn’t have thought of a better ending.”
    • Of the 109 dogs, more than half found new homes.
    • “The partnership between Nnadi and the animal shelter was inspired by Nnadi’s relationship with his own dog, Rocky. Nnadi said he wasn’t allowed to have pets growing up but always wanted a dog before getting Rocky prior to his senior season at Florida State,” reported CBSSports.

During the NFL regular season, he partnered with the shelter to pay for the adoption fee for one hard-to-adopt dogs after each Chiefs victory.

After the Kansas City @Chiefs stormed back to win the #SuperBowl, defensive tackle @DerrickNnadi celebrated the victory by paying off the adoption fees for every single adoptable dog at @KCPetProject. https://t.co/A6hL3s75tI
