There is no word when the new season will premiere, but according to Deadline it’s expected to return before the end of 2020.

    What We Know:

    • Diddy will reprise his role as mentor and producer, while his sons Christian Combs, Quincy Brown, and Justin Combs will be judges.
    • Brown said in a clip “we not settling for just anybody…If you feel like you got what it takes to compete in today’s industry—y’all know how our pops does it. So expect nothing but the best to be showing up.”
    • Famous choreographer Laurieann Gibson will also return to the competition series.
    • Open auditions for Making the Band will start February 28-29 in Atlanta, March 7-8 in Houston, March 13-14 in Charlotte North Carolina and March 21-22 in New York. In each of those cities, they will have vocal booths in which people can create a music video-style performance to pre-approved songs.
    • The first season of Making the Band aired in 2000 on ABC and it helped create the boy band O-Town. The show later premiered on MTV two years later with Diddy as the new host and judge. Acts like Da Band, Danity Kane, Day 26, and Donnie Klang were featured throughout the series.
