Saturday marked Kobe Bryant’s and Vanessa Bryant’s 19th wedding anniversary and her first anniversary since the Lakers legend’s death in January from a helicopter crash.
What We Know:
- The day before the Bryant’s anniversary, Gianna Bryant and her two teammates Alyssa Altobelli, and Payton Chester were honored and named as WNBA draftee. The next day, Vanessa penned a sweet message to her late husband saying, “my king, my heart, my best friend…Happy 19th wedding anniversary baby. I miss you so much. I wish you were here to hold me in your arms. I love you.”
- The Bryants met in 1999 on the set of a music video and married less than two years later on April 18, 2001.
- Vanessa also shared a video clip from a 2001 MTV interview of Kobe praising his wife and how he knew she was “the one”.
The Bryants went on to have four daughters, Natalia who is 17, Bianka who is 3, Capri who is 10 months, and Gianna aka “GIGI” who was 13 when she tragically passed away in the helicopter crash alongside her father on January 26.
