On Thursday, Raven-Symoné announced on her Instagram account that she married her girlfriend Miranda Pearman-Maday.

    What We Know:

    • The 34-year-old actress shared a picture with her 2 million followers of the happy couple embracing on Instagram. The post is captioned “I got married to a woman who understands me from trigger to joy, from breakfast to midnight snack, from stage to home”.

    • Her full name is Raven-Symoné Christina Pearman. As a child, she starred in The Cosby Show and That’s So Raven, and she was recently a co-host on The View.
    • She addressed her sexuality publicly after the Supreme Court’s 2013 decision on same-sex marriage. In a 2014 interview with Oprah Winfrey, she said she became aware of her sexuality at age 12. “I don’t want to be labeled gay. I want to be labeled a human who loves humans.”
    • Symoné decided to come out to her parents after enrolling at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. She described college as “the first time I felt like I didn’t have to have a beard. I didn’t have to have a man standing beside me because I [was] in love with a girl.” Symoné is relatively private about her personal life. In a Lexus L/Studio docu-series titled It Got Better, she said “I never thought I would come out because my personal life didn’t matter. It only mattered what could be sold as part of the Raven-Symoné brand.”

I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you
