Justin Bieber Denies 2014 Sexual Assault Allegations

Allegations of sexual assault arose this weekend against Justin Bieber. The Canadian singer took to Twitter to vehemently deny the allegations, providing an array of evidence in the form of receipts, emails, social media, and press reports, to back up his claims.

    What We Know:

    • Two accounts tweeted claims this weekend about alleged sexual encounters between themselves and Bieber in 2014 and 2015. One of the accounts was an anonymous accuser who has since been removed from Twitter, but the screenshots of the claim were saved and reposted by PopCrave. The second account is still online and not anonymous.

    • The anonymous account is from a woman known only as Danielle where she details claims of an assault in Austin, Texas on 9 March 2014. Danielle claims that after a surprise performance in front of a small crowd at a bar, Justin Bieber invited her and two friends to a Four Seasons hotel in Austin, Texas where he took her to a private room and sexually assaulted her without consent. She says she did not tell anyone for years, but has now had “multiple therapy sessions” and spoken to close friends and family.
    • Bieber took to social media on Sunday to deny the allegations, saying the 2014 incident has no basis in truth and then provided photos and receipts which he said bolstered his defense. “I don’t normally address things as I have dealt with random accusations my entire career but after talking with my wife and team I have decided to speak up on an issue tonight” he tweeted.

Rumors are rumors but sexual abuse is something I don’t take lightly. I wanted to speak out right away but out of respect to so many victims who deal with these issues daily I wanted to make sure I gathered the facts before I made any statement.

    • In a series of tweets, Bieber released an array of receipts, emails, and articles detailing his time in Austin that year which he spent with his then-girlfriend, Selena Gomez. He says he did not stay at the Four Seasons hotel where the alleged incident occurred but at an AirBnB with some friends under the alias of Mike Lowery, claiming it would be impossible for the accusations to be true as he wasn’t present at that location. Bieber also tweeted that he confirmed with the Four Seasons regional manager about the details and welcomes “all press to inquire with them if needed or wanted”.

Furthermore I stayed with Selena and our friends at an airbnb on the 9th and on the 10th stayed at a Westin because our hotel reservation at LÀ Quinta and not the four seasons was messed up. Here are the receipts for the hotel on the 10th pic.twitter.com/hLNHnvJ6XS

    • Ending his series of tweets, Bieber said it’s “factually impossible” that this alleged incident took place, but he believes every sexual assault claim should be taken seriously. He also noted that he’s planning to take legal action against the claim.
    • The second allegation came from a person known as Kadi, on her personal account, who claims she was assaulted in a New York hotel in May 2015. She said she visited Bieber’s hotel room at his bodyguard’s invitation, where she claimed Bieber sexually assaulted her both in the bathroom and the bedroom. Bieber has yet to publicly respond to her claims.

    • He recently retweeted Cole Sprouse, who was also recently anonymously accused of sexual assault, saying, “False accusations do tremendous damage to victims of actual assault. Furthermore, I would never seek to silence anybody. I encourage that people look into the accusations themselves, as the events detailed were factually untrue”.

No further accusations have been brought against Justin Bieber and he has made no further comments about either incident at this time.
