Kanye West claims he had Covid and says he doesn’t support Trump anymore

Chief content officer and editor of Forbes, Randall Lane’s interview with Kanye West was released on Wednesday. In the four-hour interview, Kanye West had a lot to say, including how he no longer supports the President [Donald Trump] and how he had Covid-19.

    What We Know:

    • Rapper Kanye West’s name has been appearing in headlines after the rapper announced on Independence Day that he was running for president. Since 2017, West has received criticism because he supported Donald Trump, but in a recent interview with Forbes, he claims he has lost confidence in the president.
    • “It looks like one big mess to me,” West said. “I don’t like that I caught wind that he hid in the bunker.” West is referring to the reports of Trump briefly being taken to the underground bunker during White House protests against racial injustice and police brutality.
    • On top of his jaw-dropping presidential campaign announcement, West says that he contracted the coronavirus in late February but it had nothing to do with his decision to run for president.
    • “Chills, shaking in the bed, taking hot showers, looking at videos telling me what I’m supposed to do to get over it,” he said. “I remember someone had told me Drake had the coronavirus and my response was Drake can’t be sicker than me!”
    • And despite missing deadlines in several states to get on the ballot, West believes that he can make his way onto any ballot if he used his coronavirus excuse. “I’m speaking with experts, I’m going to speak with Jared Kushner, the White House, with Biden,” West said.
    • It’s unclear whether West was ever tested for the virus but he is praying for a cure, even though he said he is suspicious of a possible vaccine.

“We pray. We pray for the freedom. It’s all about God. We need to stop doing things that make God mad.” –– Kanye West.

    • “It’s so many of our children that are being vaccinated and paralyzed… So when they say the way we’re going to fix COVID is with a vaccine, I’m extremely cautious,” he said. “That’s the mark of the best. They want to put chips inside of us, they want to do all kinds of things, to make it where we can’t cross the gates of heaven.”
    • West insists that his run is not a publicity stunt for his upcoming album and said that he wouldn’t mind the idea that his planned run could potentially take votes away from Democratic nominee Joe Biden and aid in the reelection of Trump.

“I’m not saying Trump’s in my way, he may be a part of my way. And Joe Biden? Like come on man, please,” he said. “You know? Obama’s special. Trump’s special. We say Kanye West is special. America needs special people that lead. Bill Clinton? Special. Joe Biden’s not special.”

West announced that his running mate will be Michelle Tidball, a preacher from Wyoming. He also announced that his wife, Kim Kardashian, and Tesla CEO Elon Musk are currently serving as his advisors. West is running “under a new banner” –– the Birthday Party––because, according to West, “When we win, it’s everybody’s birthday.” His campaign slogan is “YES!”
