A member of the search team for missing actress, Naya Rivera, said Sunday that he’s confident the team may be getting a clearer picture on where in Lake Piru to find her after they discovered a picture that Rivera sent to her family before the disappearance.

    What We Know:

    • Robert Inglis of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Search & Rescue Team told Us Weekly about a photo that actress Naya Rivera sent to a family member of her four-year-old son, Josey, in front of a cove before her disappearance. The time stamp on the photo indicated that it was taken 90 minutes to two hours before the Josey was found alone.
    • “There was a picture sent to a family member that showed the boy on the boat by a cove,” Inglis said. “We found where that cove was.”
    • Inglis said the spot where the photo was taken and where the boat was found were starting points for authorities before the search was expanded. “We did send our dive members to those two locations and searched those extensively.”
    • Rivera has been missing since Wednesday after renting the boat and swimming with Josey, who told authorities that he got back on the boat, but his mom didn’t. When Josey was found, he was said to be sleeping with his life vest one, but an adult life vest for Rivera was still on the boat.
    • Volunteer divers, boaters, helicopters, dogs, and special devices were used in the search for the missing actress, yet despite the efforts, no sign of the actress. On Thursday, authorities, in a news release, said that the search has transitioned from a rescue mission to a recovery operation after presuming Rivera drowned. They also noted that the process was slowed because of the low visibility of the water.

As of Sunday night, Rivera is still missing, but authorities are continuing their search for the actress to bring closure to the family.
