The NBA has managed to keep the Orlando bubble out of the negative and in the green when it comes to COVID-19.

    What We Know:

    • With the league set to resume its season Thursday, the NBA and NBPA announced there have been zero positive COVID-19 tests in the bubble since results were released July 20.

    • This marks the second straight week players COVID-19 tests have came back negative out of 344 players.
    • Upon arrival a few weeks back, multiple players were quarantined or sent back home for testing positive and made the NBA Restart almost seem impossible to continue.
    • The NBA has made sure its protocols are strict and that all players follow through. Players and coaches in the bubble are tested regularly and those who are flying into the bubble, are pre-tested and have to self quarantine for 4 days before returning to team activities.
    • Los Angeles Clippers guard Lou Williams left the bubble to attend the funeral of a family friend, according to ESPN”s Ramona Shelburne. But he also went to gentleman’s club Magic City to get food. The league made Williams quarantine for 10 days.
    • Pelicans rookie, Zion Williamson had to leave the bubble to tend to “an urgent family medical matter”. When he came back, he had to quarantine for four days.

These restrictions and precautionary measures help create the safest environment as possible for the players and staff in the bubble. The NBA has put in a lot of work and has been consistent with their protocols, which in return has given them the best results possible for their players when it comes to COVID-19.
