*The dressing rooms at the “Today” show are getting a makeover after last month’s Kelly Rowland fiasco.
Rowland allegedly left a scheduled interview with Hoda Kotb because the dressing room was not up to her standards. Rita Ora was tapped to fill in at the last minute.
“Kelly and her team were not happy. They did not like the dressing room, so they decided to pull her off the show, leaving [Kotb] without a guest host for the 10 a.m. hour,” a source previously shared with Page Six.
Kotb confirmed recently that the dressing rooms are finally getting remodeled.
“We are [upgrading them]!” Hoda Kotb revealed to Page Six.
“We have four words for you: lipstick on a pig,” co-host Jenna Bush Hager jokingly added. “Just some wallpaper, some nice fake flowers.”
Last month, Kotb confirmed that Rowland walked off the set and noted that she could return anytime.
“I just want to say this: I have great love and admiration for Kelly Rowland,” Kotba said on the show, TooFab reports. “I adore her and I want her to come back on our show and I want her to host again.”
Bush Hager said Rowland “is welcome any time!”
“Of course she is!” Kotb added. “She can share my dressing room. We’ll be in it together!”
Kotb and Bush Hager revealed to Page Six some of the plans for enhancing the dressing rooms.
“We’re going to have fresh paint,” Kotb shared. “We’re going to add some new furniture and decoration and snacks. Maybe a mini fridge!”
Meanwhile, MediaTakeOut reports that Rowland abruptly dropped out of her guest-hosting duties on “Today with Hoda & Jenna” because she is pregnant and became ill while in the cramped dressing room.
An insider explained, “Kelly got sick while in the dressing room. It wasn’t about being a diva it was about her health.”
