Four Beaches To Consider For Spring Break That Aren’t In Miami – Travel Noire

Last month, the City of Miami Beach “broke up” with Spring Break, enacting new curfews, baggage policies, increased parking fees, and more to decrease what’s been described as out-of-control visitors. If you’re still planning your Spring Break plans, but don’t want to visit the southern Florida city, here are four beaches to consider.

    Kiawah Island, South Carolina

If you’re looking for a luxury, laid-back kind of stay, Kiawah Island is the place to be. Though there are few things to do on the island regarding excursions or thrill, the island itself is relaxing and pristinely kept. With many large homes on Kiawah, visitors have several options for group stays that offer views of the beach, various marshes, and an island that’s full of trees and nature.

    Tybee Island, Georgia

Not far from Savannah, Georgia lies another great beach town – Tybee Island. The island is known for its historic sights, museums, and chill beach scene. The island offers multiple beaches that help add to its tranquil waves. A great option for outdoor lovers, Tybee also offers bike trails, saltwater marshes, and in-water activities like paddleboarding and boat tours.

    Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Myrtle Beach is one of the most popular beaches between the Carolinas and is a popular spring break destination. It’s a solid option for a vacation on a budget as the beach offers lots of hotels and vacation homes at various price points. There are also lots of things to do in the area. In addition to shopping at the outlet mall, travelers can easily find jet ski rentals, clubs, restaurants, and other things to do on the Myrtle Beach strip.

    St. Petersburg, Florida

Affectionately called “St. Pete,” the Florida city is a great – though much slower – alternative to other beach towns in Florida. St. Petersburg is a fairly walkable city that offers several lower-mid-range accommodations within a few minutes of the beach. The city also offers lots of restaurants and local shopping as well as a growing nightlife scene. The nighttime things-to-do include a decent list of clubs and indoor-outdoor bars.
