*“I wanted to keep it simple,” said Smooth Jazz saxophonist Jeff Sparks about his new project and title track “Wave At Me.” “Smooth Jazz…to wet the whistle. It’s in the DJ record pool in Chicago.”
Sparks was born in Chicago but is now based in Atlanta. He is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston and plays the clarinet as well. This is Sparks’ fourth album.
“The album is not complete, we dropped the single to see how it does,” said the Billboard chart-topper when I asked about the release date for the album.
“I’m still dotting the ‘I’s and crossing the ‘T’s, but it’s a game changer. God gave it to me.”
“We are going to pace it out,” Jeff said about the singles to be released before the album. “A single now and continue until Christmas.”
Sparks said the project will be a package release, and he talked about how the project is being produced.
“I hymned the melody to him (the producer) over the phone,” Jeff Sparks pointed out to me when asked.
