*Kevin Flournoy‘s upcoming independent debut album, titled “Vers•a•tility,” encapsulates the multi-talented keyboardist/producer’s ever-evolving artistry and his remarkable ability to create inspirational magic across a spectrum of genres.

With a career spanning three decades as a visionary force in pop, R&B, and contemporary jazz, Flournoy’s transition to a recording artist in his own right is fueled by a vibrant spirit of collaboration.

On the album’s latest lead single, “To The Water,” Kevin collaborates with Amanda Cole, a versatile veteran vocalist, on a poignant ballad narrating the journey of a dying person preparing to cross over.

Scheduled for release on April 5th, the track resonates with emotional depth reminiscent of classic 80s-90s R&B/pop ballads, evoking the powerhouse vibes of Whitney Houston.

Amanda Cole, renowned for her versatility, has traversed various musical genres throughout her illustrious career, from country and R&B to rock and classical. With extensive experience sharing stages with icons like Destiny’s Child and Mary J. Blige, Amanda brings a wealth of musical diversity to the collaboration.

The genesis of “To The Water” occurred during Flournoy’s collaborative sessions with Amanda for her solo project. Written by Matt Simons, the song felt timely, capturing the essence of reflection in the post-COVID era. Rather than reserving it for Amanda’s project, Kevin envisioned it as a perfect fit for the stylistic blend of Vers•a•tility.

Drawing upon his expertise in pop/R&B and his proficiency in arranging strings, Flournoy enhanced the track with orchestral elements, recorded in studios across different locations. Amanda’s vocal sessions, including a notable redo capturing a grand vocal performance, further enriched the collaborative effort.

“Vers•a•tility” also includes three previous singles by Kevin, showcasing his range as an artist. From the smooth urban jazz instrumental “Smooth It Over” to re-imaginings of classics like “Tell Me If You Still Care,” Flournoy’s musical journey is marked by innovation and homage to his influences.

With a storied career collaborating with legends like Chaka Khan and Donny Osmond, Kevin’s creative endeavors extend beyond music.

He’s the visionary behind The K-Flow Show, a unique music-talk program, and is actively involved in philanthropy, producing a celebrity recording compilation benefiting global causes.

Kevin Flournoy’s dedication to his craft, coupled with his passion for collaboration and philanthropy, exemplifies his commitment to making a profound impact through music and beyond.

Kevin is also deeply involved in a philanthropic effort as producer of a celebrity recording compilation “On a Very Special Note,” which will benefit “The Art of the Olympians” and the “World Harmony Run/Peace Run” – a project that will ultimately benefit people all over the globe. The original songs for the project have been composed by Kevin for each celebrity participant. A very important strategic promotional alliance with the Peace Run organization was forged when Kevin was honored with the Sri Chinmoy-Torch-Bearer Award, given to individuals who support and contribute to making the world a better place. Previous recipients include Archbishop Kevin Tutu, Russell Simmons, Carl Lewis, and Billie Jean King.
