November officially marks the end of shoulder season before holiday travel revs back up for December and January. It’s one of the few times of the year to find cheap flight deals in some of the world’s best cities.

What people may not realize about November is that you get a diverse range of experiences. There’s still time to enjoy fall foliage, but holiday lights are also starting to appear. You can enjoy the autumn colors of nature by day and the early holiday festivities, such as Christmas markets, by night.

The weather is cooler, but not yet bone-chilling cold. There’s still plenty to do outdoors comfortably for those of you who are not fans of the cold. Cheaper flights and fewer crowds make November one of the best months to travel. Here are affordable flights this November that are less than $600 round-trip.

San Juan, Puerto Rico for Less Than $230 Round-Trip

If you need a quick and inexpensive getaway before your holidays commence, San Juan is the perfect option. November is still technically part of the rainy season, but the peak rainy months are typically between August and October. During Puerto Rico’s rainy season, it is also the low season, which means you will also save on hotel accommodations and excursions.

The rainy days start to shorten in November, and you still have access to the warm tropical weather.  During your stay in San Juan, wander the colorful streets of Old San Juan and take a scenic nighttime walk along the Paseo del Morro. Discover local culinary delights through a food tour and make time for intentional relaxation.

This is the perfect destination for gathering your family or friends for a quick group trip. Remember, a passport is not needed. There are many cities offering round-trip flights for less than $200 on Skyscanner. Some of these cities include Atlanta, Miami, Washington, D.C., Fort Lauderdale, Philadelphia, Orlando, Houston, and Chicago.

The most affordable option departs from New York City. Use November 20 through 27 in Google Flights for a round-trip ticket for less than $300.

Rome, Italy for Less Than $400 Round-Trip

Another good flight deal for November is to Rome. According to Skyscanner analysts, flights are 22% cheaper in November. Rome is an excellent city for those who don’t mind cool to mild weather, as the average temperatures range between 46°F and 64°F.

Like San Juan, expect fewer crowds before the end of December. November is the season for truffles and new olive oil, so start your Rome adventure with a food tour focused on these two delights or venture off to the local markets. From there, head to iconic attractions, such as the Colosseum and the Vatican Museums. However, even though you should expect fewer crowds compared to the summer months, be sure to book your attraction visits in advance.

Flights from New York City, Boston, Portland, Seattle, and Washington, D.C., are available for less than $400 round-trip on Skyscanner. Chicago is the cheapest option this month. Use November 28 through December 5 as your travel dates in Google Flights for less than $375 round-trip.

Panama City, Panama for Less Than $400 Round-Trip

Before the snowbirds make their way down to Panama City for the winter season, take advantage of this affordable destination and the lower costs for accommodations. Panama City has it all — adventure, gorgeous architecture, lush rainforests, and delicious food. There is no shortage of fun or things to do.

Some of the best activities in Panama City include taking a day trip outside the city to Parque Nacional Soberanía, which spans over 55,000 acres of wildlife and scenic trails. A great way to explore and learn about the history of the neighborhoods is the Legends of Casco Viejo Tour. You will hear the stories behind iconic places such as Independence Square and Plaza Bolivar.

If you’re departing New Orleans, Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, New York City, and Orlando, round-trip flights are less than $400 on Skyscanner. Travelers leaving Miami have the most affordable flight options. There are plenty of dates to play with in Google Flights that will get you to Panama City for less than $300 round-trip. November 12 through November 19 is one example.

Castries, Saint Lucia for Less Than $500 Round-Trip

Saint Lucia is a dream Caribbean vacation that’s often one of the more expensive destinations to visit, so don’t hesitate to take advantage of this flight deal this month.

Castries offers a healthy mix of city exploration, outdoor adventure, and a vibrant nightlife. You can shop at Castries Market, then take a walking city tour. For nature lovers, you can hike to the summit of Gros Piton for incredible panoramic views or take an aerial train ride through the rainforest. Explore Sulphur Springs, the world’s only drive-in volcano, before dipping into the therapeutic volcanic mud pools.

Round-trip flights from New York City, Washington, D.C., Orlando, and Chicago are running less than $500 on Skyscanner. Boston is where you can find the cheapest flights to Saint Lucia this November. Use November 17 through 24 as your travel dates in Google Flights. This round-trip ticket is less than $300 in Basic Economy.

Athens, Greece for Less Than $500 Round-Trip

According to Skyscanner analysts, flights to Athens this November are more than 40% off, making this one of the best deals of the month. Once there, head to the historical sites, the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum. Next, explore the ancient agora, the historic marketplaces that were once a central hub of Athenian life.

Rent a car and enjoy a day on the coast in the Athens Riviera. It’s a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the city. The Riviera is stunning, boasting various lookout points over the sea, coves, and beaches. For the best experience, take a coastal drive to the ancient Temple of Poseidon on Cape Sounion. Athens is also a great city to stay for day cruises to nearby islands such as Hydra, Poros, and Aegina.

Austin, San Diego, Seattle, Tucson, Arizona, Salt Lake City, Denver, Chicago, and Cincinnati are some of the departing cities with flights for less than $500 round-trip on Skyscanner. The cheapest option leaves Newark, New Jersey. Use Google Flights from November 11 to November 18 to find a round-trip ticket for less than $400 with United Airlines.
