Disney Cruise Line (DCL) has grown dramatically since the Disney Magic’s maiden voyage in 1998. By 2031, Disney Cruise Line plans to operate 13 ships, each debuting a new round of firsts.

Up next in DCL’s fleet is Disney Adventure, the first ship to homeport in Asia. Built around the spirit of exploration and its namesake, adventure, this ship will feature modern cruise innovation, immersive themed spaces, Broadway-style entertainment, and unforgettable onboard storytelling. Whether you are a first-time DCL guest or a seasoned Castaway Club member, here’s what you can expect onboard.

    By The Numbers

Based in Singapore, Disney Adventure is the largest ship in DCL’s fleet and among the largest in the world. It’s also the first and only vessel in DCL’s Global Class.

Measuring 208,000 gross tons, the ship will feature approximately 2,111 passenger cabin staterooms, accommodating over 6,000 guests. For context, Wish-class ships accommodate approximately 4,000 guests.

    Seven Themed Areas

The ship features seven uniquely themed areas that bring the tales from Disney, Marvel, and Pixar to the high seas. The seven themed areas are: Imagination Garden, Disney Discovery Reef, Toy Story Place, Marvel Landing, Wayfinder Bay, San Fransokyo Street, and Town Square.

At the heart of the ship is the Imagination Garden — an open-air space that evokes the nostalgia of classic pop-up storybooks. The design appears to feature a paper-cutout playing field, decorated with greenery, including blossoming flowers and tall trees.

The space will feature a theatrical Garden Stage on one end and a charming courtyard on the other. Spanning three decks, the Imagination Garden features the first-of-its-kind storybook castle. Disney Imagineers drew inspiration from Disney Parks’ iconic castles worldwide and from Disney films.

“Avengers Assemble!” and the new exclusive stage show debuting on this ship, “Duffy and the Friends Ship,” are expected to take place here.

In the Disney Discovery Reef area, guests will experience an expansive open-air retreat at the back of the ship. In the Toy Story Place space, Disney Imagineers designed it as an area of excitement that goes to infinity and beyond. It’s a lively aquatic area that spans the center of the upper decks.

Guests who hang out in the Wayfinder Bay area will find an outdoor oasis of relaxation and entertainment inspired by the Disney film, “Moana.” An anticipated favorite is the San Fransokyo Street area. It features the vibrant energy of Tokyo and the charm of San Francisco. Inspired by the Disney film, Big Hero 6, this area has DCL’s popular tween and teen youth clubs, Edge and Vibe, and the family gaming lounge, Big Hero Arcade.

Meanwhile, Town Square is home to the Disney Princesses and features themed dining, charming cafes, and unique shops. It’s also home to the Walt Disney Theatre.

First Roller Coaster At Sea and Other Firsts On The Disney Adventure

In the Marvel Landing themed area on the ship’s upper deck, all Avengers will assemble here for three brand-new attractions: Groot Galaxy Spin, Pym Quantum Races, and Ironcycle Test Run.

Spanning over 820 feet, the Ironcycle Test Run is the first-ever roller coaster aboard a Disney Cruise Line Ship. It’s also on track to be the longest roller coaster at sea. Guests will test drive Tony Stark’s latest Ironcycle prototype in an action-packed ride that launches into an epic dash around a high-speed circuit above the upper decks of the ship, according to DCL. Prepare to have F.R.I.D.A.Y., Stark’s virtual assistant, give the driving lesson.

Alongside Ironcycle Test Run, this area on the ship features Explore Landing: a unique adventure zone offering additional thrills for Marvel fans of all ages. On Pym Quantum Racers, cruisers will get behind the wheel of Pym Tech-modified mini cars to zip around an oversized toy car track set.

World of Disney and Other Shopping Experiences

If there’s one destination that Disney Parks goers hold dear, it’s the massive shopping destination, World of Disney. This vessel will debut a nautical version featuring unique, never-before-seen designs that appeal to the Southeast Asian market. Expect the store to be massive, spanning nearly 17,000 square feet.

In addition to the new stage show, the ship will debut the first-ever Duffy and Friends shop. There will be exclusive merchandise of the one-and-only Duffy and all of his friends dressed up in their nautical best. Another first for Disney Cruise Line is its National Geographic Store, featuring an exclusive co-branded merchandise line for guests who book through Disney’s other vacation brand, National Geographic Expeditions.

    Dining Options and Entertainment

The Ship features a mix of quick-service, premium dining, and DCL’s iconic rotational dining. The Navigators Club & Hollywood Spotlight Club are character dining restaurants with appearances by Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy.

During the day, Enchanted Summer Restaurant and Pixar Market Restaurant offer buffet-style breakfast and lunch. Enchanted Summer is inspired by “Tangled” (Maximus Hall) and “Frozen” (Olaf Hall) themes. Pixar Market Restaurant is themed around “Inside Out,” “Monsters University,” “Turning Red,” and “The Incredibles.” Both restaurants transition from table service to rotational dining at night.

For quick service, Gramma Tala’s Kitchen pulls inspiration from “Moana,” offering Pacific and Asian flavors. Mowgli’s Eatery is inspired by “The Jungle Book,” and will serve Indian and regional cuisine. Pizza Planet is the pizza shop that pays homage to “Toy Story.” Bewitching Boba and Brews is inspired by Ursula from “The Little Mermaid” and will serve bubble tea.

New to premium dining is Mike and Sulley’s Flavors of Asia. It will offer high-end Asian cuisine.

As for entertainment, DCL says it will continue the guest-favorite tradition of fireworks onboard. For this ship, “The Lion King: Celebration in the Sky” is an exclusive and first for DCL. This show will be a tribute to the beloved tale of “The Lion King.”

The Disney Live Entertainment team will take cruisers behind the scenes of “Remember,” a brand-new Broadway-style show exclusive to the Walt Disney Theatre onboard. This heartwarming story features WALL-E and Eve from Pixar’s WALL-E. Disney heroes and princesses from beloved Disney and Pixar films — including “Coco,” “The Little Mermaid,” and “Aladdin” — come together to help WALL-E restore Eve through the magic of music and treasured memories.

What To Know About Disney Adventure Staterooms

Each stateroom and suite features magical touches and artwork inspired by Disney, Pixar, or Marvel stories. DCL is offering various options. Concierge Suites and Staterooms are the most luxurious accommodations at sea. Deluxe amenities and the Concierge experience include access to private retreats.

Verandah Staterooms are designed for families and are the most popular on DCL ships. Sleeping up to four guests, these rooms feature a balcony with views of either the ocean, the Disney Imagination Garden, or Disney Discovery Reef. Oceanview Staterooms can accommodate up to four guests and feature large portholes for breathtaking views of the sea.

On the Disney Adventure, there are no ports of call on the 3-night or 4-night voyages because, frankly, you won’t want to leave.
