Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas is drawing early attention from cruise fans and social media audiences as creator posts and ship-tour videos put the new vessel in front of travelers before its U.S. season begins.
A TikTok video from creator Mama Karls and a YouTube tour of the ship have pushed the ship’s European launch into wider travel conversation as U.S. cruisers wait for its Florida debut. Legend of the Seas began its public launch rollout with a June 29 preview sailing from Malaga before regular Mediterranean cruises began in July. It will move to Fort Lauderdale for Caribbean sailings in November 2026. The early attention centers on access, timing, and the scale of a ship that cruise industry coverage has described as the world’s largest.
Why Legend Of The Seas Is Drawing Attention
Legend of the Seas is Royal Caribbean’s third Icon Class ship. The Points Guy reported that the vessel measures about 248,660 gross tons and is one foot longer than Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas, with capacity for up to 7,600 passengers at maximum occupancy and 2,350 crew members. The ship has eight neighborhoods, seven pools, 10 whirlpools, the Category 6 waterpark, AquaTheater shows, the Absolute Zero ice arena, and Crown’s Edge, 154 feet above the ocean. Legend of the Seas also has 28 dining venues, including 17 complimentary options, as well as 20 bars and lounges.
That size explains why early creator videos have traveled widely online. The ship has a visual scale that performs well on social platforms, from water slides and pools to entertainment venues and large public spaces. The cost still needs context, with complimentary dining and included entertainment sitting beside specialty restaurants, beverage packages, Wi-Fi, and other add-ons.
When U.S. Travelers Can Sail and What It Costs
Legend of the Seas began its public launch rollout in Europe. The ship set sail on an inaugural voyage from Malaga, Spain, to Rome on June 29, 2026, with travel trade, media, and international partners on board. Seven-night Western Mediterranean sailings run from July 4 through October 18, 2026, from Rome or Barcelona.
After the Mediterranean season, the ship heads to Florida. Royal Caribbean says Legend of the Seas will sail winter Caribbean itineraries from Fort Lauderdale, including Western and Southern Caribbean routes and stops at Perfect Day at CocoCay. An official Royal Caribbean itinerary page shows an eight-night sailing from Fort Lauderdale on November 14, 2026, with stops in Curacao, Aruba, and Perfect Day at CocoCay.
Prices vary by sailing date, cabin type, and demand. Initial seven-night Mediterranean fares start at $1,480 per person, based on double occupancy, while Florida fares start at $1,582 per person. For U.S. travelers, the choice is to fly to Europe for the first season or wait for Florida departures in November.
