White Castle recalled frozen hamburgers due to the possible presence of Listeria. What We Know: Listeria causes symptoms like headaches, loss of balance, and convulsions. This germ is caused after eating contaminated food. It can also cause stillbirths and miscarriages among pregnant women. Four officers (three guards and a captain) at Rikers Island prison are being investigated due to claims they allowed an inmate to attempt suicide under their watch. What We Know: The inmate was arrested on a parole violation in November. Authorities refused to release any information on the inmate. Wednesday morning a 40-year-old woman was struck by an out-of-control SUV in Downtown Brooklyn. What We Know: Tracy Belgrave was attempting to cross Pearl Street at Willoughby Street around 9:25 a.m. when she was hit by a Ford Expedition. The SUV continued after hitting Belgrave at Pearl Street then came to a stop after crashing into scaffolding at the end of the block.
